1- What are you specting of this Saturday 14 in Medellín ?

Looking forward to playing with Dario Zenker who is an old friend from Munich. I will do my Live/ DJ Hybrid thing.

 

2- When you talk about hybrid, do you mix now as a dj, tracks, or also have parts and loops in them inside of your act?

Yes. Its a combination of my tracks, audio loops and other people’s tracks along with a drum machine, synths and EFX.

 

3- What do you think affects electronic music in a negative way, and why?

Artist who are afraid to try new things. Music should have as much personality as possible.

4- Are you able to play a b2b this April 14? is a question that we all do, because your setup :)

We hadn’t discussed that. We will see, I would have to switch to turntables which I haven’t used in a while…

I try to offer a variety of music.Making tracks is about having fun and trying new things.The tracks for HC are examples of that. Lee and Jamie got rax from Seth Troxler that they started playing. They asked to release them and I said of course!

 

6- After reaching a very good status, as a DJ and Producer, whats your next goal as an ARTIST? Whats your next e.m. dream? As you said, the next thing you want to try on?

My label called Isnisnt, which will start this Spring. I have also been working on visual art and an album and play the guitar and piano better.

 

6- Who are Viviane Projects?? when is the next release?

Thats an alter ego of mine. I am working on some new tracks for this project now. It’s more crazy house type stuff.

7- What do you think about the actual fight of the old school house djs and Pop artists ?

I dont. I try not to get involved with that sort of thing.

 

8- Isnisnt will be a sublabel of any label? what styles are you preparing to manage on?

No just mine. I plan to release whatever feels right. From deep house to experimental noise, dub. Everything!

 

9- Introspective album? experimental? dancefloor? mix? :D:D

All of them!

 

10- Will yourself add visual characteristics to your hybrid? or will add a parner/vj/visual artist to accomplish this?

I am planning to have a visual show along with a new Live show for my next album.

 

11- What movies and directors do you like?

Kubrick, Carpenter, Argento, Ridley Scott.

 

12- Who is the Asian girl you are wrapping naked in plastic???

My friend Regina from New York. That was 10 years ago or more.

 

13- If you could , you would be a panty model again???

Probably not. It’s boring work. I would rather be a stripper

 

14- Have you feel unmotivated along your career?

Not really. If you stop moving you begin to sink. I am always making musi, even if I dont release all of it.

15- You have any space as a favorite to play? club/nature/rave/warehouse/rooftop you feel more confortable and free?

Fabric in London is always amazing. Berghain in Berlin and Womb Tokyo are my favorite places to play.

 

16- Where do you think the sound is heading to in the near future?

Classic house and techno will always make people happy and dance. I hope to hear more surprising examples, with personality.

 

17- How do you see yourself in 10 years ?

Happy and healthy, working on music and other things. Ideally surfing more than working.

 

18- Do you see any progress since that thrusday of 2007? to nowadays in our sexy scene?

Somethings dont change much overall. Perhaps people are more openminded to music and expect to hear fresh sounding music.

 

19- Will we hear pieces of the new album? you can play every track you have made in your Live? or you dont carry all your material always?

I will play mostly new things, with some old favorites. I tyr ot keep the set as fresh, but as felxible as possible.

 

20- People sometimes is not very passionate about music, as Dario said, new generations come over and over and arent over

Not sure about that. Maybe its because msuic has become desposible like everythign digitized. People think it should be free.

 

21- Is there a book that have inspired your music?

22- wich dj’s/producer do you like and/or give the rank of “favorite”?

Dj’s Ryan Elliot, Magda, Rich, Ricardo, Mike Servito… Its a really long list now. Couldnt say a favorite.

 

23- What components make a good session for you? :)

Connecting with the people and playing a tight cohesive set of varied msic.

 

24- What motivates you to keep going when you are tired of the flights and roar trips? or you dont get tired?

I usually focus on being at home and think of how lucky I am to be travelling around to play music for people.

25- Why do you think Life is made of ups and downs? whats the best and the worst of this feeling? activity? reality?

Up’s and downs are what make life interesting. It would be monotone otherwise.Enjoy where you are at any given moment is best

 

26- How often do you say no to gigs?

Not so often. Depends where and when. I really enjoy playing.

27- weird, pumping, sexy, dark, elegant, bizarre, acid, funky sounds, and your biggest inspiration is ?

That sounds might look like imagined.
