However then, as recent as June 2007, Sony Ericsson CEO David Reeves denied the rumours, denied any knowledge whatsoever about any proposal of a PSP phone.

Then in September 2007, while speaking to the Financial Times Miles Flint, the President of Sony Ericsson said of using both PlayStation and Bravia branding on a Sony Ericsson phone, “It’s an area of possible future activity.”

Bravia-branded phones with mobile telly functionality are currently available in Japan on the NTT DoCoMo service.

Rumours then also indicated that the PlayStation phone, which may well be released in February, will not be PSP-branded. The rumours also suggested the device will feature motion-sensitivity, something the PSP does not have†. That would mean, essentially, that the device would kick off an entirely new PlayStation platform.

Well, the rumours are running rampant again, however this time, it’s SCE Europe chief operating officer Jim Ryan, that’s spilled the beans.

India’s Economic Times quoted Jim Ryan as saying, “The PlayStation is a proven success and so is Sony Ericsson. Convergence with the two arms working together is definitely plausible”.

Not what you’d call confirmation that the PlayStation phone will be or has been developed, however it does add weight to the possibility.

The proposed design features both a moveable screen, which swivels 90-degrees into widescreen mode, along with gaming controllers which look very similar to the current PSP model.

Also a Chinese has designed an unofficial PSP phone, but i looks like a poor cousin of the PSP.
